Garlic Cumin Yam Fries - Great For Baby
This is a great recipe for the whole family. Baby food doesn't have to be bland! After you've introduced your little one to simple and unseasoned foods, you can try adding different herbs and spices to broaden their palate and encourage them to be more adventurous eaters. This recipe for yam fries is a great example of this because it includes garlic & cumin.
Cumin garlic yam fries
2 medium size yams
½ cup olive oil
3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
3 cloves crushed garlic
1.5 tbsp cumin
1 tsp salt
Scrub yams, cut lengthwise into fries, place in a large bowl. * Mix all other ingredients together and coat the yams with the mixture. Let them sit for 60 mins to allow the mixture to coat the yams. (Skip this step if short on time.) After 60 mins, re-stir the yams and lay them on a baking sheet. Bake at 375C, for approximately 40 mins, checking and flipping fries often.
* I don’t peel the yams, but you can if preferred. If leaving the skin on, just be sure to give baby the inside pieces without peel as they are more likely to gag on them.
